Polk County Jail Kiosk

St. Vincent de Paul of Des Moines would like to express our profound gratitude for the partnership with the Polk County Iowa Supervisors and Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa in opening the Reentry Resource Kiosk at the Polk County Jail.

The official ribbon-cutting event took place this morning, September 11, 2025, and we are grateful for this opportunity and excited to fully begin operations at this facility. We are now in the second week of open operations for the Reentry Resource Kiosk, and we are already seeing the profoundly positive impact it has on returning citizens, thanks to the kiosk being located within the Polk County Jail.

SVdP reentry work has always been about meeting returning citizens and their families where they are at. With this new development, our organization can do exactly that, significantly increasing the efficiency and ability to assist individuals with resources and planning, ensuring they are on their feet at the time of their release.

Supported by Polk County Settlement Funds, this new facility represents the objective of being a “first step to a second chance.”
